The Israeli military said three drone strikes were launched from Lebanon towards Israel today. They resisted two of them.
Several missiles were also fired from Lebanon into northern Israel today. At this time, the warning signal of the attack sounded in the area.
Meanwhile, Lebanese authorities said two people were killed today in an attack by Israeli forces in Junieh area, north of Beirut. It was the first attack in the area since tensions flared between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah last year.
Lebanon’s health ministry said there was an “Israeli enemy attack” on a vehicle in Junieh. Lebanon’s state media reported that the attack took place on an important highway connecting the northern part of the country with the capital.
Israel’s conflict with Hezbollah has been going on for quite some time. Israel launched a ground operation along the Lebanese border last month.
On Friday, the Israeli army claimed that it had destroyed Hezbollah’s regional command center through airstrikes.
Hezbollah also said it had launched several rocket attacks targeting Haifa and northern cities in Israel.
The armed group later said they carried out an explosive drone attack on an air defense base east of the central Israeli city of Hadera.
